Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will be employed to provide oversight and direction in a key sector of the business.  As leader of a business sector, you will have ownership and responsibility for maintaining relationships across all existing and previous clients to ensure the budgeted revenue through referral and repeat is maintained.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Quality and consistency of delivery within a key sector of the consultancy business
  • Delivery of budgeted revenue and profit targets
  • Build project pipeline outside of current clients
  • Maintenance and growth of Repeat and Referral Revenues
  • Project margin and project reporting
  • Providing project planning support to a team of project managers and consultants
  • Ensuring robust transition between project analysis and project delivery
  • Providing intelligence and insight to the commercial team on target clients, product areas and stakeholder introductions
  • Supporting pitch and proposal activity to secure new business
  • Development and mentoring of the team and colleagues
  • Supporting business analysis and diagnostic processes
  • Project and workstream design to convert defined business issues into realistic and deliverable plans
  • Definition of project resourcing, skills, expertise, timelines of engagement from both LEC and client teams
  • Project governance and stakeholder engagement including but not limited to:
  • Defining and agreeing project evaluation methodology (in conjunction with the Analysis team)
  • Managing and ensuring effective delivery of steering and milestone meetings
  • Day to day management of the LEC team and client task force (as appropriate)
  • Internal LEC reporting and governance relating to project(s) delivery
  • Local client (lead) management and development
  • Supporting the development of project solutions
  • Coaching and mentoring of client project and work stream leads
  • Issue resolution - handling queries and where applicable escalating issues or feature requests

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 7 years relevant management experience, including a minimum of 3 years project management experience
  • Worked in 2 or more industries.
  • Worked within consultancy (Desired)
  • Experience in selling support projects to clients
  • An applied understanding of project management tools and methodologies
  • Experience of managing mixed stakeholder groups, including exposure to board level
  • Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite encompassing Excel, PowerPoint & Word applications
  • Excellent data preparation, technical analysis, and reporting skills
  • Excellent written communication:  presentations, client reports
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills (front line to senior management level)
  • A passion to learn, educate others and be involved with a progressive company
  • An ability to understand and articulate complex issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Exemplary attention to detail and professionalism in client communication
  • A passion to seek commercial opportunity and provide energy to pitch and proposal activity
  • Desired but not required: Worked as an Interim or Contractor
The role will encompass significant travel both in the UK and potentially abroad.  The role will be client based so the successful candidate will be required to have a full UK Driving License showing less than 6 penalty points and be prepared to work away during the week.
