AJW Group is a world-leading independent component parts, repair and supply chain solutions provider within the aviation industry. The last few years have been a turbulent period for the aviation industry due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, after having to downsize their operations during the pandemic, AJW Group is now moving through a period of significant growth.
AJW have recently promoted and recruited several Team Leaders to manage the period of significant growth. AJW reached out to Libra Europe to support the business in developing the management and operational improvement capability of the new and existing Team Leaders.
To understand the capability requirements of the Team Leader group, Libra initially worked with several key stakeholders at AJW to understand the areas that required development. This information was coalated and a 7-session bespoke leadership and management programme was presented back to AJW Group consisting of the following topics:-
- 5S
- Performance Management
- Managing Relationships
- Communication
- Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving
- Managing Change
- Bringing It All Together
The sessions would be delivered over a 12-week period consisting of a period of pre-work, the session itself followed by any required post workshop coaching sessions. Each participant would also be presented with a workbook to capture the key learnings for the course.
Below are some of the responses received at the conclusion of the survey. Participants have highlighted the acquisition of several key skills from the course, including delegation, mastering the art of managing difficult conversations, and effective communication. Other notable skills gained encompass handling challenging discussions, managing change, and the development of high-performing teams. When asked if they would recommend this course to other participants, an overwhelming 100% expressed strong agreement.
